The G-5500 Azimuth-Elevation combination of rotators is ideal for space communication antennas.

The azimuth rotator features a turning range of 450 degrees and the elevation rotator has a rotation range of 180 degrees!

Note; DC = DC motor. This makes it far easier to control via a computer than the original long-term G-5500 which had an AC motor. Otherwise, it's essentially the same rotator as the discontinued G-5500 model.

When Lee visited Kenpro in Japan (prior to Yaesu purchasing Kenpro) about 45 years ago, Kenpro demonstrated the new G-5500 azimuth and elevation combination of rotators to him. During the demonstration, Lee tested the
L-shaped plate which held the two rotators on together. After the demonstration, Kenpro immediately adopted Lee's suggestion to fit a
U-shaped plate between the two rotators in order to create a more balanced and stronger mounting arrangement. The G-5500 is fitted with an even thicker galvanised
U-shaped plate between the two rotators, these days!

We don't offer any replacement warranties. One year warranty applies to all rotators we sell new.
Customer-caused damage is not covered by warranty, of course.

Please don't mount your rotator upside-down. If you do, it will fill up with rainwater. The above photos show the correct orientation. Please visually check and resistance check each plug termination at each of the control cable.

Please note that the metallic "clunking" sound inside Yaesu rotators is simply the rotator's electromagnetic braking assembly sliding inside the motor when/if the rotator is shaken back and forth. This is a normal condition!
