The LS152THa is the largest solar telescope available from Lunt Solar. It provides the largest and highest resolution image size of any single etalon dedicated telescope. This 100% unobstructed system will perform to the highest level at both low and high magnifications. Utilising both advanced high-contrast coatings and the new Doppler True Pressure Tuning system, the observer will experience crisp, sharp and high magnification images.
This system performs excellently with high-end digital processors, too!

True Doppler Tuning allows for a shift towards and away from the observer, thereby adding a 3D-like viewing experience. Whilst it has minimal effect on prominences, due to their location on the edge of the disc, it does have an effect on filaments and active regions on the Sun's surface.

This system has an optional interchangeable CaK module, allowing for the research of multiple wave lengths through the same platform.
The LS152THa can be adapted to night-time viewing by fitting an optional special backing plate and focuser kit. Eyepiece not included.

An internal HD etalon with Pressure Tune adjustment allows
a maximum of <0.65 Angstrom bandpass @ 656nm.

Lunt's new DSII system reduces the bandpass of all LS80THa telescopes to <0.5 Angstroms! The DSII eliminates the need for an external front mounted filter for double-stacking. In this system both
Etalons are internally installed in the telescope and both Etalons are equipped with the "Pressure Tuner" tuning system. The DSII module can easily be installed on LS80THa telescopes without having to return the telescope to the Lunt factory. This DSII module is designed for use with LS80THa telescopes only. The Sun's image is brighter with the DSII than with other double-stack systems. Therefore, prominences
can be observed more clearly and in better detail, compared to other double-stacked systems which greatly dim the Sun's image.

Double stacking provides a truly enhanced high definition view of the Sun's surface details. It reduces the bandpass of the system from <0.7 Angstroms to <0.5 Angstroms which really makes the Sun's surface "come alive". The LS100THa model can be internally double-stacked at any time. Your LS100THa doesn't need to be returned to the Lunt factory if it has the red anodised front cell fitted. A polarizing filter is recommended. A "double filter" combination allows safe imaging or visual observing of the Sun. If you prefer, a continuum filter can be used instead of a polarising filter. The ND3 AND either the polarizing or continuum filter MUST be used in a "top mounted" configuration AFTER the Herschel wedge. "Top mounting" means the filters are mounted at the top
of the Herschel wedge. It's best to firstly screw the polarizing filter or continuum filter up into the bottom of your chosen eyepiece, then screw

The latest Herschel wedge package has the ND3 factory-installed! A polarizing filter is recommended. A "double filter" combination allows safe imaging or visual observing of the Sun. If you prefer, a continuum filter can be used instead of a polarising filter. The ND3 AND either the polarizing or continuum filter MUST be used in a "top mounted" configuration AFTER the Herschel wedge. "Top mounting" means the filters are mounted at the top of the Herschel wedge. It's best to firstly screw the polarizing filter or continuum filter up into the bottom of your chosen eyepiece, then screw the ND3 up into the polarizing or continuum filter. Next, slide your eyepiece down into the top of the Herschel wedge. The latest Herschel wedge package has the ND3 factory pre-installed! If you intend using a polarizing filter then rotate the filter until you achieve a comfortable brightness level. NEVER USE THE HERSCHEL WEDGE WITHOUT BOTH AN ND3 FILTER AND A "TOP MOUNTED" POLARIZING OR CONTINUUM FILTER FITTED, OTHERWISE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR EYES MAY OCCUR!!
